Theological Positioning and Beyond

• We take the bible seriously but not literally, gaining insight from its wisdom but recognizing that parts of the tradition came out of specific historical circumstances that need re-interpretation for our time.
• We believe that a questioning theology is a healthy part of a person’s spiritual journey.
• We believe we are all equals regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, occupation, or social-economic status. We believe in equality and acceptance no exceptions.
• We believe there are many paths and we value inter-faith dialogue with other religions.
• We believe in a God of grace, Holy Mystery, source of life and love.
• God works in us and others through the Spirit.
• We are not alone, in life, in death, in life beyond death.
• We believe in a radical, relevant, spirit-filled Jesus who, through his stories as friend, teacher, shepherd, guide, and healer, calls us to live God’s vision.
• We believe we are called to be an inclusive community of faith, to live God’s vision by loving and serving others, respecting all creation, celebrating life, resisting evil, challenging injustice and walking with those at the cross.
• We “Come alive through connecting, reflecting, and serving” for ourselves, others, the larger community and the world.
